The first thing to know about Cub scouts is that it is not Boy Scouts. Boy scouts is a program for boys, built by boys. Cub scouts is a whole family program designed to prepare those boys (1st-5th grade or age 7-11) and their families for boy scouts, and is ran by the parents of the scouts. Without parent volunteers there is no cub scout pack or dens. Therefore, it is the expectation that every family volunteer in some capacity. Every year two parents from the first grade Tiger den, mothers and/ or fathers, must step up to be the den leaders for that den. We also have positions with the pack committee that must be filled every year. The good news is that there is no previous experience required, and the BSA offers plenty of training for all the positions. All we ask for is a little of your time and effort, the reward is the impact you make in the lives of the scouts and it's priceless.
