To ALL Parents and Caregivers,
Volunteerism serves as the lifeblood of our Cub Scouting program, crafting memorable and impactful experiences for our young Scouts. Our collective success hinges on the generous contribution of time and skills from each of us back to our children. Regardless of background, each of you possesses invaluable skills that are essential to breathe life into our Pack and provide a quality experience. Just like in life, what we invest in Scouting directly correlates with what we gain from it. The more we dedicate to walking the Scouting trail with our Scouts and our Pack, the more rewarding it becomes for all involved.
Here's what we need to function effectively:
Dens
Dens are led by at least two adult volunteer leaders, to share the responsibility and make planning and facilitating meetings/activities more manageable. Den leaders are typically identified from within the pool of Scouting families. They are crucial in executing the Cub Scout program, and their active involvement is paramount.
Den Leaders should actively engage all parents in planning and executing various activities and events. Parents should volunteer to assist Den leaders, enriching the experience for our Scouts by exposing them to different personalities and leadership styles. In turn, parents become more familiar with and invested in the program.
Pack Leadership
The Pack is led by a Cubmaster, ideally supported by an assistant Cubmaster. They serve as the master of ceremonies for Pack-level events, provide mentorship and guidance to Den leaders, solve problems, and coordinate Pack-level activities.
Pack Committee
The Committee, led by the Committee Chair, orchestrates monthly Pack Committee Meetings and synchronizes the administrative functions of the Pack. Committee roles include Treasurer, Advancement Chair, Recruiting Chair, Training Chair, Fundraising Chair, Secretary, Charter Organization Representative, and Special Event Coordinators. Each Committee member plays a crucial role in administering a quality program for the Pack.
Being Involved and Building Continuity
Pack leadership experiences natural turnover each year. Therefore, it's crucial to maintain a healthy bench of volunteers who understand the principles of Scouting and the essential functions of Pack and Den levels. We all play a part in sustaining the program for our children and future generations.
There are several easy ways to become involved for the 2024-2025 Scouting Season:
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our Cub Scout Pack.
Together, we can create memorable and enriching experiences for our Scouts.
